A lot of talk has been tossed around about erotic romance and erotica and wherein the difference lies. Although most of my stories seem to end with hope, the outcome may not always be what you were expecting. Erotica is about desire, it is about need, it is about reaching for the pleasure and sometimes, it is about surrendering to its power.
A story that is written from the voice inside your head has a natural conclusion. It is, what it is and, try as I might I cannot alter it. I don’t choose to write HEA or HFN because it is what the market requires, I write it because it is my nature to believe that with a little perseverance and commitment happiness will prevail.
Some of my stories are darker, than others and I find while writing them, the adrenaline pumps a little harder. I reach for the ugliness of human nature and pain, the way a moth reaches for the flame. It is a challenge for me because, in my naivete, I want to find the best in people and search for the motivation behind their actions. Somehow in the end, they always seem to redeem themselves and their relationships, if only for the ‘now’. Fairytales don’t always come true, but sometimes they let you believe, if only for a while.
