I walk everyday. Or at least I try to. The same route, in the same neighborhood at the same speed. Round and round in circles, logging thousands of miles. Some days, I am on the treadmill. Each step leading me closer to the destination, but am I really getting anywhere?
They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Sitting at the computer day after day, typing words may seem insane to those that do not understand, but it is what will take us where we need to go. Are we going fast enough or too fast? Should we head down a different path? Do we need to change the final destination? Each day provides a new opportunity for choice. One foot in front of the other, we move forward on our journey. If the results are positive, we take the route again. If it doesn’t work out, we might need to change direction. Regardless, we need to get out there everyday and stay the course, if we are to make it to our destination. And once we get there? We keep moving because ‘there’ is not a stable point, it is a movable and ever changing goal that keeps us on the path.
