![]() Breathe and relax. Just for a moment I have stopped to take a breath. In the past year I have sold a house, moved to a foreign country, bought a house, sent my child to college, my mother to a new home, taken a trip home to where I grew up, participated in a road rally, travelled to a few other countries and lived life. Fortunately as a writer I could take my work with me. I thought, ‘how wonderful to journal all this or write some freelance articles’ but like the photographer who only catches a glimpse of life from behind the lens, I chose to experience it fully instead of constantly making notes for inspiration. The memories and sensations are there. They will come out in my stories eventually, but will be truer, richer as I relive the moment rather than piecing together the notes. I flipped through the empty pages of the beautiful journal I’d received as a gift and realized that blank pages are like each new day- a clean slate that I can fill with more memories. Go to new places, experience new things and live more life. Grateful for each day, I approach it now as a new opportunity, a blank page to fill with my story. Uncensored, unedited and hopefully a real page turner. I have always been a “seat of the pants’ writer so I have no idea how or where it will go –or end—I only know that there is no room for regrets. Keep typing, Genevieve, keep typing.
