![]() ...about a thing. A beautiful Welsh day doesn't come along that often-but when it does.... There have been several glorious days in a row since May began and after months of damp rainy days, the chance to walk in the sunshine is too difficult to pass up. Not good for the word count, but ultimately better for the content. People are smiling more. A friendly hello or casual wave is commonplace now that faces are not huddled into the protective collar of a coat. Yesterday I took the opportunity to sit out on the porch and soak up the golden sunlight. After 8 months of living here I finally met my neighbor.A mellow Rastafarian , he told me to just ‘be’ in the sunshine. I automatically replied that I had too much work to do to waste time, but he persisted with his plea. I was envious of his casual approach to life. Although I have been known to while away the hours daydreaming, I wasn't ready to admit my laziness to this stranger. And truth be told, I was in a rut anyway. Somehow I managed to push my schedule aside and let the warmth behind my eyelids fill me up with peace. I sat for an hour, still and alone until the time came to let it go. I am not sure the content was better or worse, but the words were flowing again and it felt good. It is easy to complain about the grey days and simply take the good ones for granted. We spend time wishing for what we cannot have instead of enjoying the moments we do. It is raining today and I am glad. The air is cooler, fresher, cleaner and the smell of damp earth brings its own comfort. I am enjoying the quiet rhythm of the raindrops against my window. Enjoying the moment. I am grateful for every day. 'cause every little thing gonna be all right...
